Explore Turtle Bay near your Redding homeFamilies looking for something fun to do near their Redding home should check out Turtle Bay Exploration Park. It’s located at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive in Redding. There are lots of different things to see and do. Stop by the museum and get involved in the great interactive exhibits. See underwater fishing and historic re-creations. There are two large special exhibit galleries. Currently there’s the Dam to Bridge exhibit, which helps visitors experience the engineering marvels of the Shasta Dam and the Sundial Bridge. Don’t miss out on learning about these structures so close to your Redding home.

There are even more cool things to experience outside at Turtle Bay. Learn about California native plants at McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens nursery. You can purchase plants, too. A crowd of animals, most of them rescued, can be seen at Paul Bunyan’s Forest Camp. It’s been modeled after the forest camps that used to be near your Redding home a century ago. Kids can learn about the history of logging in Northern California. There are also neat crafts to do, like making a leaf rubbing or a tree necklace. Snacks and sandwiches are available for purchase at the Coffee Bar. There’s also delicious Peet’s coffee brewed fresh. Come for a day or consider a membership.
